How long should I practice each day?
A few minutes, often, works best. Short, regular conversations build confidence faster than one long session now and then.
Updated
A few minutes at a time is enough. What helps most is talking regularly, so speaking English starts to feel normal.
A simple routine
- Pick a time that fits your day, like your commute or after lunch.
- Turn on check-ins so your coach sends you a short nudge at that time. See How do I change when my coach checks in?
- Stop when you want. There's no minimum. Your coach doesn't end the session for you, and you can come back later.
How your time is counted
Only your own recordings count toward your practice time. Your coach's replies don't. See How are speaking minutes counted?
Before something important
If you have an interview or a presentation coming up, tell your coach. A few short sessions in the days before help more than one long one the night before.
