What if I'm nervous about speaking English?
That's why Verbalta exists. Nobody else is listening, mistakes are welcome, and you go at your own pace.
Updated
Many people who know English freeze when they have to speak it. Verbalta is a place to practice before it matters.
Why it's easier here
- Nobody else is listening. It's just you and your coach.
- Mistakes are welcome. They're what you work on together. You get one small fix at a time, never a list.
- No grades. Nobody scores you.
- You can start over. Tap the X next to the microphone to throw a recording away before sending, and try again.
- Take your time. There's no timer for answering. Think, then tap when you're ready.
Ideas to make it easier
- Start with something you know well: your job, your day, your city.
- Short answers count. A single sentence is a good start.
- Ask in your own language if you're stuck. See Can I speak Spanish or Portuguese with my coach?
- Try Rafa: he gives you time to answer and practices one thing at a time.
