No. You can start wherever you are. Verbalta is built for adults who already know some English and want to use it out loud, and your coach adjusts to your level as you talk.
If you're just starting out
- Say what you can, even a few words. Your coach works on one thing at a time.
- You can ask for help in Spanish or Portuguese. Your coach answers you, then brings the practice back to English. See Can I speak Spanish or Portuguese with my coach?
- Rafa, the coach everyone starts with, gives you time to answer. If you get stuck, he shortens the sentence and practices one thing with you.
If your English is already good
Tell your coach what you're preparing for, like an interview or a presentation, and practice that. If you'd like more of a push, try Marta: when you can keep going, she adds a little challenge. See Can I practice job interviews, meetings or everyday conversations?
Nobody grades you
